Jack Donovan's material things were stolen by guardianship. Fortunately, he was able to spend his final years living with his daugher and her family and be safe and comfortable.

But, they sold his house against his will and without need. His house was his spirit because it had a beautiful view that fed his soul. And, that mattered to Jack - not his callous guardian.

Dear Sherry,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest heartfelt sympathies to you and the entire Jack Donovan family.

Your dad knows you loved him dearly; he knows you and your family did all you could do in his best interests; he knows you worked tirelessly, you sacrificed to save him from the icey grips of a court appointed guardian who would have made his life a living hell years ago.

Your dad knows that you knew his wishes; he knows that you never gave up; you tried your very best, again and again, to try to save his home and his assets for his best interests.

You gave your dad all that one can give, you gave of yourself, you are giving your dad a voice, he will be heard.

Sherry,

You gave your Dad the gift of time - no one could have given him a more valuable gift.

I am glad he was home with you, Sherry, when he passed. He was surrounded by love and comfort.

I am sorry for what your Dad suffered via the guardianship that robbed him of his golden years and probably actual years of his life.

He is at peace now and you don't have to worry anymore.

All of us who have experienced the horror of guardianship know that it has robbed us financially and emotionally. Sherry, you know that you did the best you could for your Dad, and no one can take that away from you. Remember the good times and keep trying to right the wrongs!

Thanks so much to all of you for your wonderful words of support throughout this difficult time.

Today was Father's Day and like all of us who have lost their dads, it was a particularly hard day for me.

I know Dad is in better hands now, and he is at peace.
I won't forget what he had to endure and will keep fighting until we can change this system that's gone so horribly wrong.

Thanks again for your kind words.

Sherry
