The Forgotten Ones - Compassion for the Elderly

So many elders face their final years alone, in a nursing home, with few of the daily comforts they once knew so well. With friends gone or fighting their own battles against the ravages of time, and with families consumed with daily strifes, the last stages of life can often be spent in isolation -- both physically and emotionally. Even the best nursing facilities and the best staffs can be too overwhelmed with standard care needs to offer much time to their residents for conversation, laughter, or especially touch. ~ Karrie Osborn

This photo could be anyone of our loved ones and we need to think long and hard, our photo could be next. The elderly were young once they built this country worked hard sacrificed we owe them respect and comfort in their end years. It's our duty and responsibility to do what is right for those who are helpless.

What I find equally as sad is the fact that we live in a country with a legal system that has completely failed, IMO. Predators are lurking...
My vulnerable mother, while vacationing with family in Fl., fell prey to a Professional Guardian, Jetta Getty of Port Orange Fl. Getty is owner of Young at Heart Elder Services and was a close business associate of Edith Myett prior to Myett's arrest. For 4 years now my mother has been detained in Fl. She is warehoused in a nursing facility, completely isolated intentionally and administered unnecessary anti-psychotic drugs causing rapid decline at Getty's request. I have pleaded for mother's return to her domicile state, her family and friends and have offered to support mother financially but Getty has the court behind her and knows how to use it. Getty REFUSES to let mother return to her home and has paid herself about $80,000.00 of mother's estate with the courts permission so... tell me, why won't Getty let her return home? feel free to contact me at hlpeffer@yahoo.com
