Gloria J Sykes and Mary G Sykes at a "visit" with mom, which was "allowed" by the Probate court--but only with a "supervisor" because allegedly Gloria is "dangerous" and her mother is "incompetent." (This is according to GAL's Adam Stern, attorney, and Cynthia Farenga, attorney.) Interestingly enough the voice in the background is Tom, an ordained minister providing comments and advice to Gloria and Mary.

Watch Mary G Sykes speak her mind and what she wants done. Amazingly enough, she is supposed to be incompetent and her GAL's Adam Stern GAL and Cynthia Farenga GAL have conveniently arranged a guardianship where her desires are NOT being carried out. She wants to live at home and have her daughter Gloria care for her in Mary's home until she dies. Carolyn Toerpe had her execute a will where once Mary's home is sold the proceeds are put in Trust and Carolyn Toerpe takes it all upon Mary's death. Now Carolyn Toerpe has had Mary declared incompetent and is seeking to have both Mary's home and Gloria's home sold and the proceeds put in Carolyn's trust. All of this has been done under the authority of the Probate Court of Cook County and GAL's Cynthia Farenga Attorney and Adam Stern, Attorney. This proves that evil never sleeps.

Family feuding is a major causation of what follows as
unlawful and abusive guardianship proceedings, which abuse is enabled by the sick probate system.
Thelma, you said it well. It's high time for all relations of victims to face facts. Underlying most cases is a family member's failure to report a crime against a vulnerable person by that person's relation or someone in a position of trust. By sheltering our sisters, brothers, cousins and friends from the law, we enabled him/her to advance within a complex legal systems that grows more corrupt, with every corrupted soul that it takes in.
Mary Sykes knows what she wants. What she wants is for her will leaving her estate divided equally to stand. She wants her family back together.

Good move to show Mary Sykes is a real person not just a name on paper, a probate product to generate income for team guardianship.
It is imperative to have proof to show the truth, the truth hurts the opposition.
Videos tell a story in this case a story that should never have ended up in a guardianship.
I encourage all citizens to document, document and never stop documenting the truth of family relationships just in case it's ever needed to challenge the wrongdoing the words of others.

If Gloria were dangerous, she would have an extensive police file. Where is it? Or - is the court relying on hearsay spoken by the guardian and guardian's lawyers?
Once again, sight has been lost of who these proceedings are supposed to be about: Mary Sykes.
What she wants should be paramount!
I think Mary seems confused yet in that confusion, she knows what she wants and she wants her daughters to get along while she's alive and be treated equally when she's gone.
What's happened, I think, is the lawyers have gotten involved and further divided the two daughters - on purpose and for their own financial gain.
The judge needs to listen to Mary and then make her wishes happen.
I am sorry for what this family is going through. It's all so unnecessary. I am also glad to see a new You Tube video up about guardianship abuse.

This digital recording was taken in March 2010. My mother had been under the care and influence, the isolation and drugging, of Carolyn Toerpe since September 2009. Days before I met with my mother, she had been brought to the ER three times by ambulance (from an adult day care center where she was placed with patients who truly have Alzheimer's and other mental dis-eases that restrict their ability to communicate ****. We also know that my mother had been over medicated and under doctors care. So, knowing all this my mother rose to the occasion once she rationalized what was real and what she had been told by Toerpe. I'm darn proud of her and praying she doesn't give up hope and fall victim to their games. Thank you all for your support . xo
It's real simple: Mary Sykes should be able to see both of her children anytime she wishes and the court should see to it that the guardian complies.
Can Mary afford to live in her own home with hired help? If she can, then that's what her money should be spent on!
The judge should be in the middle of this family feud and make sure Mary gets to see both of her daughters. How hard is that?
The Judge has stepped in and gave the eldest daughter Carolyn Toerpe, who is a named respondent to a protective order petition, guardianship. That's the problem. Mary does not need a guardian and wants to live with her daughter Gloria. The eldest daughter is isolating mother from all family and friends... the TWO Guardians Ad Litem are making a lot of money off Mary's estate. And they've gone after Gloria, it appears, to silence her. Because Gloria is speaking out and trying to get her mother home and five her mother back her life, they froze Gloria's assets and are trying to render her homeless. The court is punishing Gloria because to allow Mary a voice, it would end the guardianship and officers of the court would not be earning easy money.
