Meet the New Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging!

It is a real privilege to serve as Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging.

I represent Florida, a state where more than 17% of the population is over the age of 65. I'm fully aware of the issues and challenges facing seniors. And, I look forward to working with Republicans and Democrats on this committee to protect Social Security and Medicare.

Sincerely,
signature of Chairman

Chairman Bill Nelson (FL)

Interesting choice. Florida has become a state to avoid. Will Bill Nelson make a difference?

Welcome Bill Nelson who is replacing WI Herb Kohl. With all due respect, the Democrats have had the Chairman position for a very long time. Sen. Nelson needs to recognize the financial destruction of the wards of particular interest is false information, misleading information and bold lies in the petitions for guardianship square one is key in exposing how guardianship and conservatorships are many times being misused for others to seize the ward's estate leaving him/her destitute qualifying the ward for MEDICAID paid for by we the chump taxpayers while the guardians are unjustly enriching themselves at our expense is not a good plan, it's a sick plan that must be stopped and corrected now, today, now the clock is ticking the boomers are next.

The Senate Special Committee on Aging has been a dog-and-pony show forever, just as were the Florida courts in their handling of affairs after my father was taken advantage of during his final hours, while on a morphine drip and under a Do Not Resuscitate order. One way in which Senator Nelson can start to separate himself from his predecessors is by reading the 16-page document submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and made available online at http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=CFPB-2012-0018-1047 -- a document which includes a draft of practical legislation for preventing what I experienced, a crime very much like that which is recorded by a 3-minute video that ABC News broadcast and subsequently presents online at http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=8486577.
