Crime Stopper Tip Results in Arrest

TX - On January 7, an Aggravated Robbery took place at the Quick Cash Beer and Liquor Store. The Robbery was caught on video and released to all media outlets on January 23rd. The most disturbing scene on the video was one of the suspects beating an elderly man on crutches in front of the store. On January 28th, an anonymous citizen called into the Crime Stoppers Tip Line with information that led to the identification and charging of Darius Bariell Bogan as the suspect seen on the video beating the man. 3. Darius Bariell Bogan needs to be caged til he is old and feeble and not a threat to society. Thank God for video cameras, no way around what this wild animal did.

Thank you crime stoppers for getting another liability off our streets.

  4. Sue, of course it looks terrible on the video camera. I feel sympathy for victim number one. There is another victim you are overlooking..The problem with our court system and such is they want to look at the product and not what made it that way. How does a youngman go from being an all-star to being on crime stoppers.. who are you to Judge and prosecute him. Look at what happenen in the lives of these young people in America to reach them and help them. There is something missing some underlying problem. If he was white would you say the same thing? Caged..til he is old ahd feeble wild animal are lost child?

  5. I totally agree with CryingEyes, you never know what this young man has been through in his life. So for a person to say that he needs to caged like an animal that is crazy. This young man is someone son, grandson, brother, and nephew. How do you think they feel? Don't get me wrong he is wrong for what he did, but someone needs to talk to him and find out why he did what he did? The courts need to try to help our young black man who gets caught in the system. You also have to remember he did not act alone so the rest of the young men need to come forward before they try to hang this young man. I am praying for this young man and his family daily. The young man might really be crying out for help who Knows>>>>

  6. I disagree with these comments.
And I think throwing the race card in your comment is completely unjust. This is not a white thing, this is not a black thing, this is a crime thing.

My heart goes out to the elderly who was beaten up by a thug. I do not have any sympathy for the criminal. DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO THE TIME.

  7. Crying Eyes and the Anon after:

What Darius went thru in his life prior to the robbery and brutal beating of the elderly man doesn't carry an ounce of rationalization toward the fact that he committed a brutal crime - of HIS CHOICE.

That's what makes him an animal.

He didn't even beat someone of his own age and capability.

The elderly are easy prey, just like children and easy prey.

Darius is not only an animal, but he's a coward.

It doesn't matter what race he is -what matters is what he did.

  8. CRYINGEYES:

#1 issue is you are questioning the wrong person about having any sympathy for people who break the law - period.

My position is firm that this particular violent offender AFTER he (he or she black or white - any race)committed the crime by preying on a weaker, older person knowing full well that he would overpower the victim and succeed in his crimes belongs in a state cage.

"who are you to Judge and prosecute him."

    You are joking - yes?

Who am I? I am a law abiding citizen who lives 25 miles from a very large city where crime is a way of life and it must STOP.

I am a person who never even received a traffic ticket or warning nor was I stopped by a police officer for any reason.

I am a person who pays heavy taxes, who has been a victim of crimes, who has seved on juries to verdict in civil & criminal cases.

I am person who believes in the rule of law, harsh punishments for violent criminal offenders especially for crimes against the vulnerable, the elderly and children.

I believe offenders must be held accountable and suffer the consequences for one's actions, black or white, male or female, young or old, none of this matters to me.

"If he was white would you say the same thing?"

Yes, yes, yes, black or white, male or female color of skin makes no difference to me.

"Caged..til he is old ahd feeble wild animal are lost child?"

Yes, til he is old and feeble to keep society safe from predators. Around here we call prison cells cages. It fits.

  9. This reminds me too much of the system defending the perpetrators. There is no excuse for crime against the vulnerable.
    None.

  10. TO: Anon who agrees with CryingEyes

"So for a person to say that he needs to caged like an animal that is crazy."

Not crazy - realistic. Prison cells are built like animal cages for a reason, to secure, lock up, isolate and contain human beings who behave like untamed wild animals who are a serious threat to society.

"This young man is someone son, grandson, brother, and nephew. How do you think they feel?"

I don't care how the perps family feels, I care about how the victim feels (lucky to be alive) and how his family feels.

"but someone needs to talk to him and find out why he did what he did?"

Sure, he will have a lot of prison guards, personnel for support.

He will have a lot of time to reflect, to talk about what he did (what did he do that he got away with?). If he is a sociopath, which is a real possibility, he, the convicted one will place the blame on the victim or someone else in his life for his criminal mind and current situation.

"he young men need to come forward before they try to hang this young man."

Yes, in a perfect world his buddies with high moral character and bravery would come forward....I am not waiting for that perfect world to be created, I live in the "now".

"The young man might really be crying out for help who Knows>>>>"

Well, I hope he is crying every night in his cot.

The important issue is that this cowardly thug is removed; he will not be hurting a member of society and that is my prayer."

  11. My husband's grandfather at 91 was a healthy vibrant individual - until he was mugged, which hastened his death.

I agree with Sue: people who behave like predatory animals should be caged!

  12. I agree with cryingeyes...but believe it or not I attended school with darius and he was never to be pertrayed as violent or dangerous...but yes we do need to figure out the source of the problem. Animal??? Caged??? or u racist or something? Picture if that was your son. Do you think your opinion would change?

  13. It does not really matter what this person was like back in school. It does not matter what color this person is. What matters is if this person did what he is accused of, then he should be locked in a cage.

  14. Darius had an attitude in high school and being an all-star football player did not help his sense of entitlement. I would know as I am a former teacher of his. I care about my students, but let's face it, he committed a crime. More than one. He assaulted someone, eldery and disabled, and robbed a store. He made those choices. He was not forced. He is smart enough to have known that what he was doing was wrong and that if he was caught he was going to jail. He has no one to blame but himself. I would not call him an animal though. Just stupid for his choices.

  15. This step is role model for all the citizen of the state. People also try to follow these things and this will help to enforce the law with full power.

  16. To "SUE:

darius is my older brother. i havent seen him physically in seven years, but i comminicate with him frequently. for me to google his name one day to see things about him being an all- star and the next for aggravated assault is truly heart breaking. im not saying im condoning his actions, i do not, but for you to call him and "animal that needs to be cage"is even more heart breaking. the only thing you've seen is some video. he is the greatest brother i could hope for. so i think that maybe you should take your geriatric-no life having-nosy self- and shove it. because you know nothing.

  17. Dear Sibling of Darius Bogan,

I'm not Sue, but want to say to you that it's nice that Darius is a good brother to you, but read the article, "...beating an elderly man on crutches in front of the story..."

I agree with Sue - beating up on an elderly man on crutches is the act of an animal, not a human being.

I am sorry your "good" brother does bad things.

  18. To anon, sister of the offender Darius Bogan ~

"im not saying im condoning his actions,......"

I noticed you focused on your brother; you did not have any sympathy or mention the victim in this particular case.

That fact alone speaks volumes, doesn't it?

You can defend your brother that is your right, but I would rather put my attentions and concerns to the victims, not the offenders, who are a threat to society.

When people who know better make the decision to behave in a lawless manner, like animals in the wild, especially preying on those who cannot defend themselves, children and the elderly, in our area we call it as we see it, these people who prey on those who are weaker, are routinely referred to as "animals".

I think it's time you face the facts, the truth and firm up sis to face the truth. He was caught on video, how many other incidents was your brother involved in where there is no video?

"The most disturbing scene on the video was one of the suspects beating an elderly man on crutches in front of the store."

Why would anyone beat a person who is disabled, in this case dependent on crutches? Hate? Anger? Rage? Lost his mind? Impress his friends?

I believe when people take the role of predators and act like beasts in the jungle looking for their prey, they become people in the news, subject to public outrage.

    And, I am outraged!
