This is J.P. and Doris Manire. They have one son named Phil. My name is Kim and I have known the Manires for about 30 years now. Phil and I are married. J.P. and Doris have three grandchildren: Cody (19) Beth (14) and John (17 months). Doris was the owner of Vogue Beauty Salon for 35 years, which J.P. and she started together. J.P. was head of the Engineering Department of Parkland Hospital in Dallas Texas; he was also a WWII vet who served for four years in the U.S. Air Force, in Europe. J.P. also graduated from U.N.T. where he played football. Phil and I used to take care of any and everything J.P. and Doris needed, from painting, plumbing, and car maintenance, going to the store, watering the yard, peach trees and garden, changing light bulbs. Just any thing they needed we did to help. Think of the money they saved by not having to pay to have it done for them. We lived as one happy, loving family on their land in a trailer they got us so we could be together.
That was all taken from us by the Denton County Probate Court and its select group of “GUARDIANS” and attorneys, who took over half a million dollars in less than one and a half years. They cashed in CDs, a pension plan, IRAs, sold mineral rights to the land, and went through over $215,000.00 cash. They have been trying to sell the homestead that the whole family lived on, but has been put off with different legal motions. The group of people involved all friends, business partners, a personal attorney, and the ex-wife of the judge, these people were chosen over family members who had always been around the Manire’s and who helped them to save their money over their life time, just so that this group of people could put way over half of it in their pockets and lock this couple up in a nursing home and sell their homestead to put even more in their own accounts.

This is a perfect example of ignoring -- for that matter going just the opposite -- of a person's wishes.
ReplyDeleteKim and her husband took care of his parents -- for that, they were called moochers.
Well, that's baloney. There's not a person alive who wouldn't rather continue to live at home and have their children move in with them rather than have to move in with their children.
I am sorry for the misery and torture the Manire family has endured at the hands of the system.
ReplyDeleteJudge Don Windel (Swindle Windle)should be disbarred for rubberstamping this assault on the Manire family.
$500K in less than one and a half years sure sounds like "protection", doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteOr does it sound more like theft?!
I feel deep compassion for anyone who is ever involved in a guardianship or conservatorship proceeding. Sorry to say, I think it is run by the most evil and corrupt people on the planet. Once you are involved in this process, you will never be the same. You will be traumatized. You begin to distrust everyone. It is a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling your story. Everyone who has ever been inside a guardianship court should yell their stories out at every opportunity so that we can educate the public and put an end to the theft of our loved ones from us who suffer at the hands of those who are supposed to protect them.

Dear Kim,
ReplyDeleteGood going with your posting! This will publicize the issue in Texas. I still think that Dr. Phil should be concerned since you told me his Mother lives about 20 miles away from these goons. Keep on keeping on, Mary W
Here is an example of _THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING A SHERIFF WHO REFUSES TO FOLLOW UNLAWFUL ORDERS. It is only a possibility and probably very premature. However if you go to Sheriff Richard Mack's website(I didn't yet). But I know he was ONE of the PIONEERS of courageously standing up for the Constitution who went to Fed Court and won_ so if you were in his county or under a sheriff who has a similar mind or is changing his mind toward OATHKEEPERS _that is where the possibility exists. REFUSING TO ENFORCE UNLAWFUL ORDERS can grow into PROTECTION FOR US if nurtured and spread. Sheriff Richard Mack is in AZ. I just sent a post and link to NASGA members about OATHKEEPERS
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the Manire family - all happy and enjoying their lives together until suddenly one day, guardianship knocks on the door and their world falls completely apart.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for this family.
It is heartbreaking to read how people are being harmed under color of law.
ReplyDeleteThe guardianship racket churns people into products to fund the well-oiled probate machine.
This is another case of public mugging with court approval. How many more cases will it take for people to wake up, take their blinders off and see what is waiting for them?
I agree that no one is ever the same after experiencing the horrors of a guardianship of a loved one. Many of us have suffered permanent damage from being blindsided and thrown into a fierce battle unarmed, while the guardianship loop is entrenched with every available weapon, all with court approval.
The only thing that is the same about me before guardianship, is my home phone number and my home address. Everything else in my life changed.
