Hammond To Serve As Guardian

Famed Hollywood Attorney Gloria Allred wanted El Paso attorney Terry Hammond to serve as guardian for Nadya Suleman's eight children.

Monday in an Orange County, Calif., courtroom, a hearing was held granting Hammond guardianship of the children.

A petition was filed on behalf of a former child actor who is an advocate for kids in entertainment.

Paul Petersen said he wanted a guardian to ensure labor laws are followed and the money the babies earn is kept safe. That's the role Hammond will now play.

Hammond told KFOX last week there are a number of contractual arrangements being made by Suleman and her attorneys that don't protect the childrens' financial interests.

  1. Paul Peterson must live on another planet if he doesn't know that a lawyer/guardian bills the estate at exhorbitant prices for that so called "protection."

Too bad - Peterson's intentions toward the octuplets is likely on the up and up.

  2. Terry Hammond probably won't be working today -- he'll be out buying a new wheelbarrow to haul all his future earnings from the octuplets to the bank.

  3. Paul Peterson must ahve no idea what guardianship is really about: profit for guardians and attorneys.

  4. Paul Peterson is in the for a real shock. Maybe this is the best thing that could happen to get the attention of the folks who are buying into the guardianship racket perceived to be a good system with good honest, caring people. Perception is: everything

  5. I am sorry to see anyone with the NGA appointed as guardian or lawyer in any case.

The NGA claims to be for high standards, but send in a complaint on one of their so-called certified guardians and they brush it off. They care money.

I am not saying all guardians are bad, nor are all who belong to the NGA.

But, the NGA has lost its focus, and Terry Hammond owns a great deal of the blame for that.

  6. I hope the press is on this case demanding to see the accounting, particularly how much is going into the Hammonds pockets including all of the persons he will be retaining to assist in this case. Hmmmm, wonder if they will petition the court to have the case sealed? I told my husband about this new development with the octo babies, he was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language; he is stunned. Any guesses when this guardianship will terminate? Or, will these octo baby slaves become octo adults begging for their allowances from their court appointed guardian of finances?

  7. Why doesn't Hammond just say this is all about the money, and the money he will make off of this ridiculous guardianship.

Based on this case, no-one is safe from the NGA and court sanctioned abuse.
