Six former Northern California nursing home employees are under arrest on charges they covered several elderly patients with cream to make them slippery as part of a prank against their co-workers.
California Attorney General Jerry Brown announced the arrests on Tuesday, calling the alleged abuse "despicable behavior."
All of the patients at Valley View Skilled Nursing Facility in Ukiah suffered from dementia, Brown said, and were unable to object to their treatment.
The six employees have been fired.

ReplyDeleteVery good point,Anon1. You are so right.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how old these workers are. Sounds like a bunch of pathetic juveniles.
ReplyDeleteHow sad.
ReplyDeleteCriminal charges should be filed against these sickos.
ReplyDeleteIf one in five American's is mentally ill, and there are 12 people in the courtroom, why is there only one ward?
ReplyDeleteI say anyone who is appointed as a fiduciary, and all employees of for-profit care centers [which btw includes non-profits] should be required to undergo psych evals before their service begins.
Anyone second my motion?
This is not only a criminal act, but an unsensitive, cruel, and very, very sad article to read. Until people step up to make sure that gov. officials are resposnsible to do something about this, instead of passing the buck, and probate judges continue to be without any monitoring, this type of abuse will continue... these people should not have only be fired, but should go to jail. I assure you that if I were to do that to my elderly mother, I would be sitting in jsil right now! As long as people choose to remeind uninvolved, this and other types of behavior will continue... One person CAN make a difference, one plus one, plus one, plus one...
