The executor of an estate intended to benefit the Tennessee Children's Home has been charged with stealing from it.
Daryl Bornstein faces nine felony counts. His wife, Janalyn Bornstein, faces five counts.
Bornstein was the executor of an $800,000 estate, left to the Children's Home by Nashville Firefighter Raymond Simmons.
After allegations of mismanagement, a probate court removed Bornstein as executor last year. By then, an official with the Children's Home says only about $50,000 was left.
Daryl Bornstein is jailed on $2.2 million bond.

Executor Charged With Stealing From Children's Home
I bet his Mother is mortified, if she's still alive, about what he's done.
ReplyDeleteStealing from the very young or the very old is the worse of the worse.
ReplyDeleteHope he gets a good long sentence, but is there any hope of recovery??
ReplyDeleteThe only thing mortifying is what the media is doing to the family. The "typos" and exxagerations in the paper etc. I know these people very very well and they are wonderful and do not deserve all of this negative media attention. Of course, the public will only think the worst..because that is the very sad kind of world we live in today.
ReplyDeleteThere is NO need for a good long sentence. The media has already done enough. He has a family. Move on and leave them alone. There is always a different side to the story. Remember that.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, we'll just have to see how it plays out, but I do agree with you that the media gets things wrong.
ReplyDeleteI will add that if he did do this, I do believe he should get a long sentence.
Barbara,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you understand about the media. He is not a theif I can gaurantee you that. He is a hard working loving family man who loves his kids and wife more than anything and would do anything for anyone. A long sentence would not only be wrong to him but it would be wrong to his family and kids who need and love him very much. This goes back to the media and what they don't understand nor care about.. They don't think "Oh wait.. this man has kids and a family." Instead, they just continue on trying to ruin their lives too so they can get a paycheck. It has been blown up into something way bigger than what is should be. Now, not only is he dealing with consequences..his family is as well. It is sad.
