Please Help Me Find My Mother!

My Mother has been victimized by relatives and then a court appointed guardian.

I spoke to my Mother last on July 13, 2011.

No one will help me locate my Mother. The Sheriff's department cannot since she is under guardianship. The guardian has my numbers blocked.

I have no idea what to do, or whether my Mother is alive or dead. Please help me find my Mother.

  2. This comment was posted to NASGA's Facebook account by Liz: "That's UNBELIEVABLE... maybe court documents (which are public records) have some information. You might have to call around nursing homes, posing as the guardian. There are many untrained staff in those places and somebody will eventually confirm if she's there. But go to court and DEMAND to be kept informed, for one simple reason that your mother would not want to be hidden away. Guardians are supposed to act "as the ward would want for herself" and they're hoping we don't know that."

  3. Sorry to say - you need a lawyer to bring a habeas petition.

  7. It seems like Guardianship abuses have turned criminal.
How else would the law title a "Kidnapping"?
Try Law Enforcement. Good Luck to find you mother.

  9. I hear your pain as I have felt the same. In my case it only lasted six weeks but those six weeks were beyond what anyone should have to go through. It is because the court/guardian/attorneys want to keep them isolated and over-medicate them before letting any relatives loose on them. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. I will pray for you both.

  10. I know how you feel. The stress and worry is almost unbearable.

Stay strong - you're mother is going to need you strong.

  11. The Sheriff's department has a duty to do a wellness check on your Mother if you suspect foul play. Push them! Ask for the supervisor.

Why don't you do that? this way you can put the information out there to everyone. We need to make the public aware. I am sending prayers to you and your Mom.

  14. Betty, my brother also was missing (seven years). The only reason I found my brother is the guardian wants money. I did not lie about it, but that does not mean you can't. I am not sure how or what..you will have to come up with your own idea, but something plausible.

In my brother's situation our mom died and the guardian wanted half the money and she told our dad and the lawyer were my brother is located to insure she would get half our mothers money (on behalf of my brother..yeah right). Anyway, possibly you and some friends can make a plausible situation were your mother will supposedly receive money from a dead relative; the guardian's greed may cause her to release your mother's location to some one.

Good luck and God Bless you Betty.

  15. Notify your religious advisor, publicize your Mother's disappearance, and if you're able to, hire a private detective. And a lawyer. And pray.

We are all on the journey with you.
