What can they do to stop corrupt judges from overriding advance
ReplyDeletedirectives?
I wonder if the Senate Committee on Aging would like to hear how advance directives are being disregarded at a Chicago hospital particularly HEALTH CARE SURROGATES physician certifications are disregarded when a Social Worker / Case Manager with 0 to little experience determines the elderly WWII Veteran patient recovering from CVA (stroke) with the Health Care Surrogate is capable of signing binding legal documents within days of being evaluated as"confused and unable to make decisions for himself"? All done while patient is alone, in secret, without notice or warning to Health Care Surrogate or the family. The HEALTH CARE SURROGATE document does not state that this is in effect until a hospital employee ie Social Worker or maybe the janitor determines the patient is able and capable to sign and comprehend anything including binding legal documents. BEWARE of FALSE SENSE OF PROTECTION on all advance directives. Note: To anyone who believes they or their loved ones might be at risk for this accepted procedure at the Chicago Hospital you can e-mail me at: ssrudek@gmail.com for the name of the hospital so you can be prepared before you or your loved ones become a victim.
