Editorial: Boomers Against Elder Abuse

Did you know that elders can lose their civil rights to freedom, legal capacity and property in New Mexico?

Elders can be declared “incapacitated” in probate court. All it takes is an emergency petition to the court on hearsay.

Court appointees who work together on case after case all stand to benefit from the elder’s seized assets, and yet they are the ones who are supposedly objective in determining what is in the “best interest” of the elder. That can mean selling off the elder’s house and assets to pay their salaries.

Elders can be isolated from family members in a nursing home. If families try to free the elder, the court-appointed guardian can use the elder’s assets to fight back. It’s the worst financial gang rape of elders imaginable documented in all 50 states. And there is no oversight of this activity outside the courtroom.

  2. I highly recommend visiting, liking and supporting Boomers Against Elder Abuse Face Book page.

Concerned citizens in the USA (with worldwide supporters) are teaming up to share information to educate, inform and brainstorm with an impressive group of supporters many times speaking up and if necessary shouting out loud for those who have been wronged and silenced.

Knowing the pattern of predators laying in wait, identifying the costumes they wear, mapping out their hunting grounds for their prey is imperative in order for you to make informed decisions to take actions to protect yourselves, your loved ones and people you care about.

    Applause & Standing ovation BAEA!

  8. The abuse of the Public Administrators office is sickening. The control, manipulation and abuse has to be stopped NOW!! My 20 year friend with Asperger's is looking at her entire life being controlled by the state of Missouri, specifically, Platte County. She is highly functioning and they have taken it all away! THANK YOU NASGA FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!

  12. This same thing is currently happening to my grandparents. They seem healthy to us, but they have been somehow declared incapciatated by courts. Family members have been all told they are not eligible to be the guardians - for reasons that do not seem true to me. The professioanl guardian appointed has dozens of other cases, and is taking thousands out of estate in payment. Family members are desperate. Would appreciate any feedback.
