As a Senator representing the state with the oldest median age, I am particularly focused on the well-being of America’s seniors. It has been my privilege to serve on the Senate Special Committee on Aging since my first days in the Senate and an honor to have been elected chairman for the 114th Congress.
The committee has three major priorities: investing in biomedical research targeting diseases that disproportionately affect older Americans, such as Alzheimer’s and diabetes; protecting seniors against financial exploitation and scams and improving retirement security. (Continue Reading)

I appreciate Sen. Collins, but I've not heard the SSCA say a word about guardianship abuse as a part of elder abuse.
ReplyDeleteSen. Susan Collins needs to open her eyes to the biggest threat facing our aging society the protection industry depends on a steady flow of cases. I'm certain the good Senator from Maine is the recipient of correspondence asking for her help to organize hearings to begin the process of testimony although it's highly unlikely we'll live long enough to see bus loads of wards, the victims on the road to Washington DC to appear at hearings - the Guardians and Conservators are the persons who have total control over their wards.
