It is my experience and opinion, and I hope my mother's story will help save our Elders.My late mother, Lilia Martinez, first generation Cuban Immigrant, was forced to die alone against her wishes, Mom had been suffering with Alzheimer's and Dementia when I applied for Guardianship in Broward Courts back in June 2011, thinking I was going to protect her. The Price of Protection? Mom was denied due process, ADA Laws, was not deemed incapacity in 2011, I spite medical reports, suffering from severe cognitive impairment and all symptoms of the horrific mental disease. All ignored! Was trafficked, and sequestered inside a garage over a decade, suffered neglected care, multitude of Judges orders to enforce visitation, hone grabbed, business grabbed, car grabbed, bank accounts grabbed, and coerced to signn a Durable POA during incapacitation. I was labeled the bad daughter. Not till Alzheimer's Association and a Mental Health professional with proper certification is in the courts, these crimes against our marginalized group of our Society our Vulnerable Elders will continue to be targeted, War like crimes! Isolation is coerced manipulation, opens the door to neglected care for the Exploitation of the Elderly causing A Public Health and Wellness Hazard, amongst depriving human rights, and Federal Constitutional Rights. 🆘 manipulation, and a major human rights violation, SOS
