A former Clovis attorney pleaded not guilty on Monday to 119 elder-abuse charges that could put him behind bars for 122 years.
James Saccheri is charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from an elderly client.
He resigned from the state bar nine years ago after being suspended for incompetence.

And maybe he's not really guilty, but unlikely. 119 charges is a pretty big case against him!
ReplyDelete122 years? One for each victim and then what?
ReplyDeleteBut it's important to teach other thieves to think more than twice before they make a move!
hmmmm my opinion is there is a very high probability this former lawyer is guilty due to the fact that prosecutors will not prosecute unless they believe they have a really good case for conviction the other thing is if the victim is able to testify which is something all financial predators of the elderly hope is not the case
ReplyDeletePerhaps the pleading not guilty strategy is to have negotion leverage later in the plea bargain?
