Linda Kincaid Reports: Shameful abuse of Gary Harvey: Disabled veteran in Chemung County, New York

Gary Harvey received a special treat for his birthday on February 27, 2013. On that day, and only on that day, Gary’s wife was allowed to kiss Gary on the cheek two times. Gary’s wife was also allowed to hold his hand for five minutes.

Gary is not a criminal. Neither is his wife, Sara Harvey. Gary is a disabled adult.

In 2006, Gary suffered a head injury that left him in a vegetative state. Gary is completely dependent on caregivers for all of his care. Gary’s wife, Sara, was by his side at the facility for months. Sara became trained on Gary’s care and made arrangements to bring him home.

In 2007, the Chemung County Court placed the Public Guardian in control of Gary’s life. In a story familiar to many victims of the court system, false allegations were made against Sara. Lacking the legal savvy to navigate a hostile court environment, Sara lost all voice in Gary’s care.

  1. An ungodly power these people have taken - separating a husband and wife! They're all connected through a common law firm. What's their motive?

  4. As twisted as this sounds, the souls we should be praying for are those in Chemung County. The Lord will hold them accountable and they won't be going to heaven. This much is clear.

  5. I am so sorry Sara. Words cannot express how absolutely wrong and cruel this treatment is.

  6. It continues to amaze me why this just keeps going on. How many Gary Harveys are out there being shut behind closed doors, isolated from there families, and mere existing.

We owe them more than this. Gary Harvey is a VETERAN and this is how he's treated after the service he gave our country. It's shameful.

  7. I am sorry Mrs. Harvey. I wish there was something I could do. I learned a long time ago there's no rationalizing with irrational people. They have justified their actions in their minds and to each other. The rest of the world is mortified that they could do this to you and your husband.

  8. None of these organisations, responsible for Gary Harvey's imprisonment, are stepping out to correct the errors. They are all acting in concert with one another, and have created a Domio Effect - impossible to redo.

Has Sarah tried the Unites States Supremme Court? Forms are available online for pro se litigants. It is worth a try...eb
