A lawyer who previously attempted to get Britney Spears out of her conservatorship has asked for the pop star to appear in court on his behalf, now that he has been targeted with a restraining order by the singer’s conservatorship.
Jon J. Eardley filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court asking that the pop star appear at an April 21 hearing in Los Angeles.
A judge previously granted the conservatorship’s request for a restraining order against Eardley, Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi and ex-boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.
In his latest filing, Eardley suggests that because Spears is able to appear at several concerts in Los Angeles later this week, she is well enough to submit to a deposition, despite being under a conservatorship.
The filing reads: “If Britney Spears is well enough to put on two concerts in Los Angeles, she is certainly well enough to attend a trial where attorneys on her behalf have falsely accused Jon Eardley of harassment and elder abuse.”

I say if Britney is able to work and competent to TESTIFY - why oh why is she a ward of the state?
If Britney is incompetent, then how can her testimony be of value to the court?
Ah, the web of deceit is melting.
The Britney Spears case is a brazen example of 'slavery'; locked up in an asylum and let out to work for the 'master' Guardian. Time to reform the INjustice System.
We can start by voting out all attorneys and enacting laws for limited terms. Career politicians lose sight of whose interests they are suppose to be working for
When it's convenient, Britney is competent. When it's not, she's not.
They are taking advantage of her and there's not a thing she can do to stop them.
SLAVERY, the American way, with court approval
Britney's really in the same boat as Murray Feingold. Her boat is just fancier!
If all of Britney's rights have been taken from her (for her own protection?!), then her opinion unfortunately means nothing.
If she is allowed to testify in court, then her lawyers should use that event as an example of her competence!
Britney is an example of modern day slavery - working to pay legal and administrative fees for the conservatorship.
They will use her completely up.
I'm sure they are making her believe that it's for her own good and that it will end after her World tour is over. That's why she is working so hard... I can imagine her disappointment and misery when she realizes they are never going to let her go. During her tour she has earned enough money to pay all those leeches including her so-called father for the rest of her life. If I were her I would just stop working. But in this case they can lock her up in an asylum. What a shame that judges take part in conspiracies like that!
One of these days, Britney will be writing a book of how her fortune was stolen from her.
