Wedding vows once went something like this:Bride: I, (name), take you, (name), for my lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
However, it doesn’t seem as though those wedding vows have any meaning anymore. Well, not in the Gary and Sara Harvey case anyway. No, in Chemung County, New York, it would seem the vows have become:
“You, Sara, don’t get to take Gary anywhere and neither shall you have him or hold him from this day forward, whether it is for better or worse. We’ll take him for richer and you can pay the insurance to keep him from being poorer, in sickness and infection, until death does he part from us and gets written off the books.”
Who are these people that think so little of their ward, Gary Harvey, and his bride, Sara? Who are these people who toy with the lives of others and think they, the controllers, are so “enlightened” and “righteous?” Have they forgotten that they are supposed to be making decisions, not as they themselves might make for self, but rather, as Gary would want the decisions made?Full Article and Source:

This should us all something to think about and where this country is heading.
How can they do this? Michael Schavio had more say than what the parents had to say in the matter of their beloved daughter...and the county is doing this?

Boy, isnt this the truth? Nothing is sacred when the court appoints a total stranger to be in control of someone who can't speak for himself.

jim, yes he has a GAL and if your suggesting that he get one is insane Kevin Moshier is his appointed attorney who also represnts NYS. Kevin Moshier is the responsibilty party that got Mr.Harvey into this mess. No conflict here is there, Helen Keller can see this. Any other ideas?
I wonder if the powers to be in this case are drunk on power or is it greed? I wonder how they treat their marriage.
Then the problem is Kevin Moshier, right? As GAL, his duty is to Mr. Harvey and he's ....what ...incompetent or uncaring?
Since we're not going to get an answer from Kevin Moshier directly, Jim, I offer my personal opinion that the guy is simply uncaring. Perhaps he's become callous in his job and he forgets that when he started his career as a lawyer, he likely started it with the right intent of helping people. And along the way, he found he loved money more than people.
What's saddest of all is he has the power to do the right thing for Gary Harvey. If he chooses to let this opportunity pass, then one of these days, he will have to own up to that perhaps at the pearly gates. Or perhaps when he gets old and nobody cares about him.
I find it just incomprehensible that guardians get by with this torture of a human being.
I am sorry for Gary Harvey most of all, and for his wife. And I am sorry for the guardian who has no sense of compassion.

The guardian is not the only who fails to protect this man. There ia an attorney for Gary Harvey, there is the judge and of course the attorneys for the county.
They are all responsible.
It totally sickens me when the county can come in and take away someones rights and make choices for families they know nothing about. Areas of our Government are out of control. It has become a dictatorship. They decide if, when , how ...a helpless person dies.
They are sick SOB's and their only concern is the money if you have it and if you don't or do they will end your life when there done with you. Drug, medicate and isolate seems to be the pattern.
This has been building up for more than 20 years all over our country. Our official are turning a blind eye to it. How many loved ones will be murdered before it stops. All under the disquise of "so-called protection."
Then only thing these court appointed guardian services do is is promote the culture of the death movement.

Kevin Moshier and company are dug in the muck they are wrong wrong wrong but sadly this is business as usual but in the Gary Harvey case they have people shouting out loud and Sara is not going away she is standing firm right vs wrong she is fighting for her husbands rights as an American citizen who served his country.

And who all works in this law firm? I mean the employees and attorneys?
What are there connection with Mr. Harvey, with the hospital, the nursing home, the judge?

The court-appointed "protectors" are a very insestuous group here.
This case is all about them and not about Gary Harvey at all.
Thelma I sort of do. I was doing some digging and ran across that page. I used to live in Elmira when Moss was sherriff. It looks like it has gotten worse over the years. I will see what my Buffalo contacts can do.
It is all about government control. This is not land of the free we live. This is the new world end times is coming soon and this is just an example of where we are heading if these groups do not start uniting, come together under one cause to make this an international cause to end it now before it gets worse.
So, this is what it's come to. Husbands and wives forcibly seperated from each other and all the while, the perps are so very pleased with themselves.
I will continue to pray for the Harvey family, and to pray that those who are treating Gary Harvey this inhumanely come to their senses.
This case gets more obscene all the time. Poor Gary Harvey. If it weren't for his wife, he'd be long buried by now.
This is a poster case for guardianship abuse.
What a perfect title of the article! That's exactly what the guardian has done here and it's totally against Gary Harvey's wishes. But Gary Harvey can't speak, so that makes him even easier to abuse. It's just so sad that anyone would treat a severaly disabled person this way. Denying Gary Harvey his wife is no less than torture.
