Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl said he's not running for a fifth term in 2012.
Kohl has been unassuming in the Senate, often focusing on local issues. He serves as chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, a key post for a state with a large elderly population.

I bet Marti Oakley is doing back-flips of joy over this one.
Good. I'm glad to see him go. Herb Kohl has been non-responsive to guardianship abuse.
You're right, Tim.
Crossing our fingers and toes that the next guy does a better job!
Me too Betty.
I bet Marti will be hosting his retirement party!
I'm glad to see him go. He'll retire to his fortune and hopefully, we'll get a better Chairperson for the Committee.
He did some good - but he practically ignored guardianship altogether.
I think everyone is right, and am hoping for better understanding with the next chairman.
I have been very disappointed in Senator Kohl. I have written him letters and receive no response. The least he could do is respond. He's got a staff; it's not like HE himself has to do it.
The joke is Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl HAS been a no show, he's been retired. He is bought and paid for; he is a poor excuse for Chairperson of the Aging Committee.
Good bye Herb, your final departure is cause for rejoicing let's hope and pray a person with character sits in your DC chair.
Years too late so much that could have been accomplished, I am still upset since September 2010 that Senator Herb Kohl Chairman, Special Committee on Aging suggested training as his answer to the GAO Report:
United States Government Accountability Office
Report to the Chairman, Special Committee on Aging,
U.S. Senate GUARDIANSHIPS
Cases of Financial Exploitation, Neglect, and Abuse of Seniors
I will be doing back-flips and cartwheels, dancing in the street bye bye Senator Kohl you should have stepped down years ago.
Shame on you.
