An Arizona attorney has been suspended from practicing law after an investigation by the State Bar.
During the investigation, the three-member panel, led by the Acting Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Supreme Court of Arizona, found that Grant Goodman exploited protected individuals, knowingly made false statements to the court, opposed counsel and failed to respond to the State Bar's request for information.
Prior to the disciplinary hearing, Goodman was placed on an interim suspension on July 21, 2011, at the request of the disciplinary judge.
The State Bar ruled this week to suspend Goodman for two years, retroactive to July 2011.
Both Goodman and the State Bar can appeal the panel's decision.

Will we ever know the truth?
We know the Bar eats its own.
Retroactive? Well, they don't hate Grant Goodman as much as they say or it wouldn't have bene retroactive.
I think Goodman's a good guy who tried to do the right thing so they had to take him out.
I strongly disagree, Jason. Grant Goodman takes advantage of people who are on the down and out. He knows he can't win these cases but he takes them for profit.
I don't know if Goodman is a good guy or not nor probably does anybody except Goodman himself. But, I do believe it's important to check out any lawyer before hiring him and just because the bar is after him, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be. The other side of the coin is a lawyer shouldn't be disbarred because he stood up for those who have been treated unfairly in court.
I wonder if the "false statements" are listed in the disbarment...
This is a lawyer with a very divided following. People either love him or they hate him.
the only way to survive is not to ever need a lawyer but when circumstances caused by others force a person to seek one out good luck cause you're gonna need it better luck winning the lotto the thing no one can deny is lawyers are lawyering for one reason ~~~ income! ever notice either way win or lose lawyers get compensated for their time although some will take a pro bono case on contingency if there is a good chance of a win with a secure judgment in probate cases its a roller coaster ride you will spend your money that's 100% guarantee but what you get in return is how people get sucked into this and many are still at square one after spending their life savings putting themselves in financial ruins
