Caretaker Accused Of Exploiting Elderly: Northbrook Police Blotter

Police said the woman turned herself in on an active warrant involving the financial exploitation of two people they were caretakers for.

 NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF ELDERLY

Flyn E. Ruperto, of Sycamore, is accused of financial exploitation of the elderly, and was arrested at noon, Feb. 22, in the 600 block of Midfield Lane. The complainant said the caretaker of two Northbrook residents, later identified as Ruperto, had unlawfully taken money from the elderly victims while she was supposed to be assisting them with day-to-day activities. She turned herself into Northbrook police for the active warrant. A court date of March 1 was assigned.
