Update Child Star Amanda Bynes Found Walking The Street Naked After Dialing 911 For Herself

By Jeff Porter

Amanda Bynes has been put under psychiatric hold after being discovered naked and alone on the streets. According to an eyewitness, Bynes was seen strolling around downtown Los Angeles without any clothes on early Sunday morning.

According to reports, Bynes waved a vehicle down, telling the driver she was recovering from a psychotic episode. Amanda then dialed 911 on her own.

According to law enforcement sources, Bynes was brought to a nearby police station, where a mental health team decided she required a 5150 psych hold.

Fortunately, Bynes was not injured during the experience, though things could have been much worse given the location where she was discovered.

According to a source, Amanda says she is presently hospitalized and will likely remain there for several days. A psychiatric hold typically lasts 72 hours, but it can be prolonged. Amanda’s 9-year conservatorship was formally terminated almost a year ago today.

Amanda’s mother became her conservator in 2013, when it became obvious that she was struggling with her mental health — she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

After a succession of bizarre incidents, including one in which she set fire to her neighbor’s driveway, nearly engulfing her dog in flames, she was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.

Amanda was scheduled to attend 90s Con in Connecticut this weekend, but she had to cancel due to illness.

Amanda appeared to be doing well for herself after the conservatorship ended, though the most recent incident is clearly very concerning and it’s unclear if her parents or legal team will step in.

Why did Amanda Bynes need a conservator?

Britney Spears & Amanda Bynes are the current best-known references of conservatorships, but, are there more celebrities under the regime of a conservator? Also, it’s important to question if this is a fair way to rescue someone from a personal crisis, or if there’s a legal way to make sure conservators won’t be abusive. Let’s keep in mind what happened to Britney with her conservator, which was her own father.

In the end, celebrities are always exposed to being victims of media assault, and this should be talked about along with celebrating Bynes & Spears’s freedom. It must be overwhelming having so much talent & wealth and not being able to fully enjoy the fruits of labor due to social pressure & substance abuse. These two factors are the usual reasons celebrities get under a conservatorship.

The number of either overdosed or suicide celebrities is astonishing. However, unlike the 90s when all eyes were posed over T.V. celebrities, this is the era of mediation & visibility. Andy Warhol once said that in the future, everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes, that future is now, just think of how easy it is to make a  TikTok go viral. However, we’re now collectively sensitizing ourselves to deal with visibility.

What are conservatorships for?

A conservatorship is a court case where a person or organization has a legal responsibility to someone else. The “conservator” cares for a “conservatee” which is another adult who for some reason, cannot take care of themself or manage their finances. This is a convenient way to protect people with different mental abilities, however, there are other situations that can make someone unable to self-decide.

Even though the situation is officially managed by a judge, several ethical debates can appear when a conservatorship is decided. A lot of people wonder why Amy Winehouse wasn’t under a regime like this, and if having a conservator would’ve changed her destiny. In fact, Winehouse’s parents have been questioned about it and said that even though they didn’t control her finances, they did put effort into her.

After Jamie Spears became Britney Spears’s conservator in 2008, Lindsay Lohan’s father tried to do the same, but her siblings disagreed with the arrangement. In 2013, Lohan admitted being an addict to Oprah, however, she also mentioned a lot of situations were going on with her family. This shows how complex conservatorships can be, and the way family is not always the best option to care for you.

Just recently, former actress Amanda Bynes went out of a nine years conservatorship. According to the media, her mother Lynn, now former conservator, was supportive of Bynes’s decision to terminate this condition, due to her recovery process. Yet, why did Amanda Bynes end up under a conservatorship?

Why was Amanda Bynes under conservatorship?

While people remember Britney’s shaved head when thinking of her hardest time, with Amanda Bynes things are blurry. Looking at a before and after picture of her might give some clues about her having a rocky time, in fact, Bynes started working on her appearance after starting the liberation process. Her recently reopened Instagram shows her tattoo removal.

But something stronger than a face tattoo & substance abuse had to happen for someone to end up under a conservatorship at twenty-seven. Well, Bynes almost killed a dog and a stranger. She started a fire in someone’s garage and almost set her dog on fire, apparently she only poured gasoline over it. Fortunately, she didn’t kill anyone.

After these events, her mother declared to the court that Bynes was dangerous to people, property, and herself. Also, Amanda’s parents started to fear for her daughter who started getting unnecessary & expensive plastic surgery and spent her entire net worth on it

Nonetheless, time has gone by and Bynes has transformed into another person with the full support of her family & fiance. Hopefully, this new era will bring Bynes the peace & happiness she couldn’t find before.

Amanda Bynes' conservatorship terminated

Bynes filed to terminate her conservatorship in late February

By Lauryn Overhultz

Amanda Bynes' conservatorship has been terminated.

The decision was made by a judge at a hearing on Tuesday, Bynes' family's lawyer confirmed to Fox News Digital.

"Lynn is so proud of Amanda and the progress she has made and looks forward to having a mother-daughter relationship with Amanda outside of the conservatorship," Tamar Arminak told Fox News Digital on behalf of Bynes' mom, Lynn.

The judge decided the conservatorship was "no longer required" in a tentative ruling Monday, Fox News Digital can confirm. Bynes had filed for her conservatorship to end in late February.

The "She's the Man" actress' petition to terminate her conservatorship was confidential.

Bynes' attorney David Esquibias did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

"Amanda is excited and looking forward to living independently," Esquibias previously told Fox News Digital in a statement after confirming the actress wanted to end her conservatorship.

"Amanda wishes to terminate her conservatorship," the actress' lawyer further told People magazine. "She believes her condition is improved and protection of the court is no longer necessary."

Bynes was placed under a conservatorship in August 2013. The decision by a judge gave her mother, Lynn Bynes, legal control of her finances among other things.

The legal move followed a series of public events that ended with Bynes being hospitalized after allegedly starting a small fire in a driveway, according to Page Six.

Bynes submitted a status report regarding her health to the Ventura County Superior Court in September and the document was approved by a California court. The actress' lawyer clarified at the time that Bynes' conservatorship could end when it was "no longer convenient" for the star.

"It is open day to day. A status report regarding her health and welfare was recently filed and approved by the court," Esquibias told People magazine.

"By law, the next status report is due in two years. Her conservatorship will terminate when it is no longer convenient for Amanda."

Bynes has moved on with life following a few periods of time spent receiving treatment in rehabilitation centers. The "Easy A" actress graduated with an associate's degree from California's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019.

Bynes announced her engagement to Paul Michael, a man she met in 2019, on Valentine's Day 2020.

In April 2021, Esquibias told Fox News that Bynes was "doing well' ahead of her 35th birthday. At the time, Esquibias added she was also "living independently" and is back "attending school."

Amanda Bynes Files to End Conservatorship

by Edna Rico

Amanda Bynes is aiming to end her conservatorship after nearly nine years. Bynes’s mother, Lynn Organ, was granted temporary conservatorship in 2013 after the actor allegedly set a driveway on fire and was hospitalized on an involuntary psychiatric hold. Organ then gained full conservatorship in 2014.

Newbusinessherald confirms that Bynes filed a petition on Feb. 23 to end her conservatorship. The actor also filed a capacity declaration on Feb. 22, as California requires all conservatees to provide updated information on their mental state from their physician or other medical practitioner. A hearing is set for March 22 in Oxnard, Calif.

Bynes’ lawyer David A. Esquibias issued a statement exclusively to People magazine, saying, “Amanda wishes to terminate her conservatorship. She believes her condition is improved and protection of the court is no longer necessary.”

A status report regarding Bynes’ health was filed and approved by a California court last September, with a future update scheduled for January 2023. Esquibias told People at the time that this status report did not mean her conservatorship was being extended through 2023 and that her conservatorship “will terminate when it is no longer convenient for Amanda.”

Esquibias has given several updates on Bynes over the years. Just before her 35th birthday in April 2021, the lawyer said Bynes was “doing great” and added, “She lives by the beach, attends school and is enjoying meditation and Soul Cycle classes.”
