Danny Tate, Forced to Pay Brother's Legal Fees

A judge ruled Friday that a Nashville singer-songwriter who was recently given back control of his life still has to pay up.

There was a lot of what the judge called theatrics Friday in the ongoing saga involving Danny Tate's conservatorship. Fans of the man -- who, for many, was an 1980s icon -- showed up in court wearing T-shirts in support of him.

In 2007, Tate's brother, David, was granted control of his life following concerns and evidence of Danny's cocaine abuse. That temporary conservatorship was dissolved in May, but the bitter battle continued Friday with attorneys on both sides fighting about who should be responsible for paying legal fees and other court costs that range in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Danny's attorney said he's on the verge of bankruptcy and should not have to pay his brother's attorney's fees. The opposing counsel disagreed.

In the end, probate Judge Randy Kennedy had the last say, forcing Danny to pay reasonable court costs and attorneys' fees.

Who is to say they're "reasonable"?

Does the Joker Judge do anything other than rubberstamp every fee application?

People should not have to spend their life savings trying to fight against a hostile take over of their life and finances.

SHAME ON YOU, JUDGE RANDY KENNEDY!

I am sorry, Danny, you must be very disappointed. Remember tho, you were up against the same judge who sandbagged you. Onc can't expect justice from someone who doesn't know what it is.

This is ridiculous. Are we living in the United States?

Would this be happening if Danny wasn't successful with significant assets?

Is it team probates plan to take every cent leaving Danny with nothing?

If team probate thinks we are losing our motivation, quite the opposite I am more motivated than ever.

Does Judge Randy Kennedy deserve to continue to be the ONE AND ONLY probate Judge in Davidson County?

I wonder what Paul Housch's parents and his children think of him preying off of the vulnerable...

Judge Randy Kennedy should be disbarred.

This case is far from over.

When the dust settles, Danny Tate will remain a person of integrity and character. His brother and the rest of the team are as transparent as glass.

HEY is that what justice is nowdays? Let's reward the liars and thieves by filling their pocketbooks?

I am sickened by Kennedy's ruling.

David's attempt to put Danny under permanent conservatorship failed - and yet Danny has to pay Paul Housch's fees?

That's like someone hiring a hitman to kill you, and it fails, and they you get the bill!

Ridiculous. David should be hanging his head in shame.

David probably thinks he's a big winner here, but the war's just really begun.

My prayers are with you, Danny. What a miscarriage of justice.

It's awful to have everything you've worked for outright stolen from you.

But, Danny, you're still you. And that means you will rebound bigger and better than before. And you will be a voice for those who haven't been able to free themselves.

On the other hand, your brother will always be what he is - a greedy, controlling sociopath.

When you weigh it out, it's far better to be you in your financial condition (even though it's wrong in every way what they did to you) than to be your brother.

Or Paul Housch? How would you like to have to look at that ugly mug every day?

Your children can always be proud of their Dad. David's can't -- nor Housch's -- nor Kennedy's.

Finny is right on, like paying a hit man to shoot you in the head.

These people don't know the meaning of shame the only thing that matters is how much of other's money goes into their pockets.

A question burning a hole inside me is: Is Judge Kennedy "thanked" for going along with breaking the laws of Tennessee?

How many secret emergency hearings take place in Judge Kennedy's courtroom on a daily basis?

All that whispering between TEAM PROBATE, the lawyers, the petitioners, the GALs and the judge it's a done deal in 15 minutes and takes a LIFETIME if ever for the wrongly accused the ward to shake these blood suckers off.

Notice who is missing from the secret hearing? The target, the victim, the proposed ward - something wrong with this picture?

How is it that the GAL's are in on this gig serving the ward notice of hearing AFTER the hearing?

Do the GAL's read the laws regarding their DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES?

When was the last time Judge Randy Kennedy read the state statutes of the great state of Tennessee?
