Scott Rothstein Asks Judge for Mercy

Lawyer Scott Rothstein sought the mercy of a judge in a letter released Friday, saying he "begged God to help" him as he contemplated committing suicide before returning from Morocco last fall to accept blame for orchestrating South Florida's biggest financial fraud.

Rothstein -- who has pleaded guilty to operating a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme and could face a life term at his sentencing on Wednesday -- implored U.S. District Judge James Cohn to consider "giving me an opportunity to live at least part of the remainder of my life as a free man, with an opportunity to do some good in this world."

Mercy?

How many peoples' lives did he destroy?

Give him a job - in prison.

Yes - Have "Mercy" on the people he destroyed. Rothstein deserves none.

Mercy? This sack of rotted garbage has the nerve to continue his con game?

Mercy is GODS job - too late convicted felon you had enough time to change your ways - the only reason you have any sorrow or remorse is for yourself --- ha you got nailed.

Our job Rothstein is to send you and others the strongest harshest message with severe punishment.

I don't give a rats A_ _ if Scott Rothstein comes out of his cage horitonal straight to the morgue.

Sociopaths will do and say whatever it takes to get what they want.

Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame - they are lacking in all areas that keep us on the right track that's why they are a danger to society - they must be removed.

Scott Rothstein - I say bye bye - if you live to serve your sentence I hope you come out old and frail.

I hope you will then be declared a ward of the state - need I say more?

Just looking at Scott Rothstein makes me want to add 20 years to his sentence - smug look, let's see how smug you are in your cage.

I wish you years of misery and loss of hope - you earned it bye bye Scott the earth will be better off without you.
