PA Judicial Conduct Board Admits Never Investigating Complaints Against Judge Michael T. Conahan

A state conduct board has conceded that it never investigated any of the complaints made against a disgraced former Luzerne County Court judge accused of taking kickbacks to place juveniles in for-profit detention centers.

The Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board said it received four complaints about former Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Conahan in 2004, 2006, and 2008, but failed to conduct interviews or review any documents related to the complaints.

Another failure to take complaints seriously and investigate. If this board were Toyota, lawyers would be lining up to sue for negligence or worse. We need to change the law so as to make such boards similarly accountable ...

The PA Judicial Conduct Board was forced to admit to being part of the problem.

The Board needs to be dismantled = USELESS and worse than that = COVER UP.

IN addition, the feds need to launch a full investigation into the people who are nothing more than a smokescreen allowing the corruption to continue and grow.

Good points, tvfields and anon1. And now we know why judges are rarely disciplined. The JCB's are looking the other way. Perhaps the JCB should be investigated and replaced.
