How can anyone deny there's a problem when you see so many stories collected and displayed on one site?
I hope these victims all find NASGA. Guardianship abuse is happening everwhere, not just Arizona.
I am so happy for Claire that the fees were reduced $300K. That's an amazing feat and a wonderful victory.
I don't know which story was the saddest. The videos are hard to watch because they go straight to the heart.

whats up with that $300,000 of overbilling meaning .... fraudulent billing.... that's a lot of money this happens all the time and it's not the usual bs excuse oversight error made in good faith all that bs are lies lies and more lies when will these lying crooks face real consequences like fines of times 10 the amount fabricated and time in a prison cage now we would be talking incentive a good reason to stop the lies and fraudulent billing MEDICAID and MEDICARE overbilling are involved in this too bet my house and cats on that scheme while we the chump taxpayers pick up the bills while the probate mob gets richer and richer and richer while bagging more victims under color of law

One thing you all must know is that NGA IS NOT, I repeat... IS NOT necessarially what it is portrayed to be!!! Many many many corrupt guardians are members of NGA. In fact, I believe the state of Florida requires all guardian be certified through CGC to become Certified NGA guardian but, they do not require these guardians to follow their "Model Code of Ethiques" or "Standards of Practice" no one requires them to follow the rules.
My mother is currently under guardianship in Volusia County Florida although she is a resident and domiciliary of PA.
While visiting "the Sunshine State" with my sister, mom fell prey to "Jetta Getty" a NGA certified guardian and owner of "Young at Heart Elderly Services" in Port Orange Florida. I have been battling in the courts for almost 3 yrs now while my mom's estate has been plundered by Jetta Getty and her accompolises. Getty was most recently adjuciated "unbelievable" and involved in what one court believes to be forgery with Edith Myett who now has a judgement against her in excess of $100,000.00 having grossly breached fiduciary duties.
I have been battleing in the courts for almost 3 yrs now while my mom's estate has been paid to attorneys, Jetta Getty and her accompolises.
The guardianship nightmare is something most people do not know anything about until they are trapped in it so I am very thankful NASGA continues to spread the word.
What I find to be most tragic in our situtation is that my mom is/was an extremely healthy 76 yr. old woman when all this started. She often walked miles a day, she swam just last summer with us yet Jetta Getty intentionally put my mom on dangerous, non approved, anti-psychotic drugs which has most likely caused irrepairable harm. All mom wants to do is come home!! For now I am sorry to say mother is still being held criminally confined by Getty for ransom, reward or other. It's as if she were kidnapped.

Thank you ABC15 to have had the courage, to bring this travesty to the public. People shoud be aware, this is NOT just an Arizona probate problen, but nationwide occurances. The pain, destruction of family, and the exploitation of the elderly, is immeasurable, when one considers the involuntary guardianships and the accompanying greed by those placed into positions to protect the elderly and most vulnerable. To name a few, from Law Enforcement, to Guardians, APS, Lawyers and Probate Judges, all are perpetrators of Civil Rights, and abusers of the elderly.
Oh, Holly you are so right the drugging is deadly and that is their intent. My Aunt was over medicated and drugged with Seroquel which she didn't need.
Drugged into a into a weakness where she needed to have assistance at her meals.
Nursing home did not provde that 'help' for her, so I went at meal times to try to get her to eat enough to sustain life.
Soon, without warning the order came in from the Temporary Guardian to terminate her life now. The order to withhold all food and liquids, no water, nothing.
My Aunt was left to die a painful death in her baren Medicare room, slumped over in her wheelchair, slumped over pleading with me a just one sip of water.
The events that followed could have ended with a SWAT TEAM are some of the reasons why I joined NASGA.
I need to stop, all the emotions come flooding back as if this happened yesterday.

That is exactly what "Jetta Getty" of "Young at Heart Elderly Services" deserves, in my opinion!
Oregon has rampant elder abuse cases that remain ignored. Probate court allows attorneys, DHS, guardians/conservators, the Oregon Department of Veteran Affairs, and others to conspire with each other to bleed victims financially until they have no resources left. If they live through this period of time, Medicare is used to support the victims until they die. My father was forced into a conservatorship by a simple four-minute ex parte meeting with attorneys (no physician) to determine he was not able to handle his finances. This was due to his son worrying that my father was spending all his (the sons) inheritance “on himself”. After the initial conservator was found to have omitted a bankruptcy in her disclosures (under perjury), she was allowed to be the “guardian”…at the same pay rate. The Oregon Department of Veterans affairs were appointed as conservator. The guardian continued to make all my father’s decisions, receive his mail, and deny him any knowledge of his own affairs. She then wanted him placed in a “long term care facility” which she put a deposit on prior to a Judge’s approval. He ultimately was put on hospice, drugged with Haldol and Oxycodone, and died a very sad and broken man. This case is not isolated. It is the way the Probate Courts conduct business. He saved money his entire life to leave it to his kids. One greedy son could not wait. His estate was worth well over $500,000. The last attorney billings were around $54,000. The Judge approved the bills. They covered the last few months he was alive. This is perverse and sick money making scheme the “system” uses as a deceitful, secretive farce to “protect” the vulnerable. Lastly, in Oregon, apparently an Advanced Healthcare Directive is a waste of time. His was ignored by his physician, his attorney (the court appointed him) the Veteran Affairs and all others. Thank you NASGA!! Thank you ABC15! Maybe we will see justice one day.
Guardianship is big business operating unregulated no oversight no audit no review except the judge and we know how useful that source is to complain to 99% of the judges are part of the problem leaving us at square one.
My wife is currently a victim of guardian/conservator abuse. Her daughter from Texas is a lawyer and has filed temporary guardian/conservator. My wife is 90 and was placed in the Terra Pointe Memory care facility against her will. I have been refused all visitation and no phone calls. She has been there 14 days. The daughter says there is a policy with the facility that there is a 14-21 day acclimation period but the facility said no it is the guardian restricting access to my wife. I am at the mercy of the temp guardian (daughter) even for visitation. We filed all the power of attorneys at the attorney generals office but they were overlook when this temporary guardian-conservator happen. I have been to the attorney general, adult protective service, area of the aging....no help. My wife has stated she does not want her daughter to be her guardian-conservator but it is like no one is listening. Next hearing is 5/24/21. They have my wife isolated and alone I am afraid. I just want to see her to make sure they are not medicating her. As usual in these cases the daughter and son want the house (they put a hold on the house thru probate court) and have already taken all the money from their Mother. I hope the judge stops this case soon going on since 2/4/21.
