Domine Daniels, as plenary guardian of the estate of Deborah Daniels, a disabled person, filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony of South Shore, for alleged violation of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, in February 2006, Deborah Daniels was admitted at defendants' facility. Plaintiff claims while a resident at Symphony, Daniels fell, resulting in injuries, including, but not limited to, a right femur fracture, which required hospitalization.
Furthermore, in 2016, while still a resident, she developed pressure ulcers, which worsened in condition.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide an adequate plan of care for plaintiff to address her risk for falls and the development of pressure ulcers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Marc Weissman of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates in Chicago.
