Britney Spears’ parents fight in court over guardianship legal fees
Britney Spears’ parents are currently fighting in court over her guardianship.
The singer’s mother, Lynne Spears, filed documents last week opposing the $ 890,000 fee billed by law firm Jamie Spears for four months of work. She said several of the fees were both “procedurally and substantively irregular”, according to People.
Lynne felt that part of the work the law firm does was “to combat media coverage that cast a negative light on Mr. Spears” and that the services were not “rendered in good faith for the benefit” by Britney. She asked that at least $ 224,000 be “immediately returned” to Britney’s estate.
Jamie’s law firm just filed a response and it looks like the battle will continue based on what they wrote.

The law firm says Lynne’s claims are unfounded and that she is not acting in Britney’s best interests.
“Although she had no involvement in her daughter’s guardianship until very recently, Lynne Spears makes allegations as if she was a party directly involved in the litigation (which she is not)” , we read in the document (via People).
The law firm added: “Lynne Spears’ calculation of dividing the total fee by four (to calculate the fee per issue) is ludicrous and belies her ignorance of the complex nature of the Conservatorship Estate and the issues that needed to be. resolved by H&K to properly defend Mr. Spears against specious claims which threatened to tarnish his reputation as a loving and caring father who has nothing to hide, was loyal and fiercely loving to his daughter, sought to protect her and manage her finances so that she can live her life as she sees fit.
The company claims that any claim that it acted inappropriately is fictitious.
