The state Court of Judicial Discipline will hear legal arguments on May 13 regarding whether its order that removed Luzerne County Judge Ann Lokuta should be modified in light of newly discovered evidence she presented.
The court’s action is in response to a March 25 order by the state Supreme Court that stayed Lokuta’s removal from the bench and directed her seat not be placed on the May primary election ballot.
That order directed the disciplinary court to consider evidence Lokuta presented that tied her case to the ongoing corruption probe of the county judiciary. The court was also directed to consider whether an evidentiary hearing should be held.
Lokuta maintained the witnesses were part of a wide-scale conspiracy orchestrated by former judges Michael Conahan and Mark Ciavarella, who wanted her gone because she was a whistleblower who exposed various improprieties.

If the "victims" of these judges - on both sides were invited to speak up, then - and only then - will the truth out.
I think the truth about Lokuta is coming out and it's in her favor.
This is great -- for once, a whistleblower is being protected and justice just may be served!
Hopefully, the disinfecting of Luzerne County will include a complete review of every case the two corrupt judges touched.

I imagine Lokuta is all smiled -- and I don't blame her. The truth usually comes out. Sometimes it takes a while -- sometimes too long -- but it always comes out.
This is the tip of the iceberg --Luzerne County is as crooked as they come. They will only find more and more corruption.
I am sure the vendetta against Lokuta helped bring it all out.

I don't know the whole story behind Lokuta's removal, but it's very coincidental that she was shouting that it was a fix and then Ciavarella and Conahan were exposed.
Perhaps what Lokuta did "wrong" was not play the game. And for that, they disbarred her.
Bet they're not laughing now!
I am glad to see Lokuta get this chance. A judge should be removed because he/she doesn't follow the law or is biased - or some such awful offense. If she badgered her staff, that would be bad, but nothing like corrpution or lawlessness.
Former judges Michael Conahan and Mark Ciavarella are dirty. Everything they touched, every case is dirty.
Their dirty fingerprints are all over other cases.
I am glad to see the worm turning her in Lokuta's favor!
I bet before it's over, so much more corruption in Luzerne County will be discovered and publicized.
