Home Health Care Nurse Charged With Abusing Quadriplegic Patient

A home health care nurse was in court on charges of abusing her quadriplegic patient, according to police.

The male victim told a friend about the abuse, so that friend set up a video camera to catch the nurse in the act. On the very first day of filming, the nurse was caught swearing, yelling and hitting the defenseless patient.

Home health care nurse Tammy Labrecque and her family had nothing to say about her abusive treatment, which was caught on tape, toward the quadriplegic patient.

The 42-year-old would not uncover her face as she walked away from court.

The 63-year-old man spent more than a decade under her care.

Let's see what Connecticut's court does with this one since they have been in the topic recently.

Good point, Anon.

Taking advantage of the able bodied is bad enough, but abusing a quadriplegic is beyond shameful.

What about those conservators like myself who do a good job? I've fought for 15 years to keep him in his home and out of a nursing home. The nurse who abused him was like part of our family. She had such control over his mind. When he told me he was being abused I had the camera installed within 5 days and she was arrested. I will not rest until I see justice served. He can never get the time back that she took from him.

While this woman was enjoying being treated as a member of the conservator's family, she was cold-bloodedly and systematically torturing this gentleman. She has abused their their trust and besmirched the name of nurses She's beyond reprehenisble and I sincerely hope the US court system is better that here in the UK. She should be locked up for life.
