Care workers caught by hidden camera abusing elderly woman with dementia

Care workers were caught abusing an elderly woman with dementia after her granddaughters installed a hidden camera in her bedroom.

Four carers have been charged with ill-treatment and wilful neglect thanks to footage collected by sisters Danielle and Rebecca Hinsley, who installed the camera in Beryl Wall’s Wolverhampton care home.

They had become suspicious after noting that Mrs Wall’s behaviour had changed and she had bruises on her body.

Man accused of sexually abusing elderly woman

Tri-State News, Weather & Sports

MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) - A Madisonville man is accused of sexually abusing an elderly woman.

According to police, they began investigating on Sunday after they got a complaint about sexual abuse in the 400 block of N. Seminary St. Police say their investigation led them to arrest 27-year-old Eric Barnett.

"An employee happened to be doing their rounds and then they entered one of the rooms and then they saw what they thought was inappropriate contact with one of the individuals, one of the residents there," Lt. Andy Rush with the Madisonville Police Department said. "And so they confronted the person about it, that person went ahead and left the facility. And at that point they felt it necessary to not only contact the police department but also contact their administrators.

Police say Barnett is an employee of NHC HealthCare, a rehabilitation center in Madisonville. We've reached out to the center for comment, but haven't heard back.

Barnett is being held in the Hopkins County Jail without bond.

Couple charged with abuse of elderly woman

Josh Lane
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Two people in Greeneville have been charged with abuse after police say an elderly woman was locked outside of her home-- away from her oxygen.

Around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an anonymous complaint to check the welfare of an elderly woman on the front porch of her home on Cherry Street.

The victim says her son, Josh Lane, and his wife, Brandy Ragan, locked her out of the house because she woke them up.

The victim also said they nailed the windows shut and padlocked the door to keep her from gaining entry to her oxygen machine.

She went on to say she had been without her oxygen for three days.

Lane and Ragan are both charged with willful abuse and neglect or exploitation of an adult.

Ragan is also charged with an outstanding violation of a probation warrant.

The police report said the incident was drug related.

Officials have not released a photo of Ragan yet.
