Former attorney accused of sexually assaulting, stalking clients

A former attorney and judge is accused of sexually assaulting a clients and stalking them.

Greg Knudsen, a former attorney and Torrington Municipal judge, had been charged on March 31 with 10 counts in Goshen County Circuit Court.  Laramie County Judge Thomas Lee is presiding over the case. Knudsen is next scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing set for May 21, at 2:30 p.m., to see if there is enough evidence for the case to move forward to district court.

Special prosecuting attorney for the case is Kevin Taheri for the Eighth Judicial District Court.

Knudsen, who had a private law practice in Torrington before he had been disbarred in July 2019, is charged with three third-degree sexual felony counts of assaulting women in his office and a felony count for burglary. Along with the felonies, Knudsen is charged with six misdemeanor counts, five stalking and one unlawful contact.

Prosecutors accuse Knudsen of sexually assaulting and stalking four different women, with allegations starting in August 2012 to as recent as August 2018. He has also been charged with assaulting one of the women on Oct. 25, 2017, accused of using “sufficient physical force to cause injury. He is accused of burglarizing the home of another woman, allegedly entering her home with the intent of committing sexual assault.

Knudsen has not been practicing law since the Wyoming Supreme Court issued an order disbarring him, effective July 15, 2019. The order of disbarment stemmed from Knudsen’s conduct in entering into a sexual relationship with a client that had been described as consensual; failing to withdraw from the client’s representation promptly upon entering into the sexual relationship; advising the client to conceal evidence of the relationship in the legal proceeding; and knowingly making a false statement of material fact to Bar Counsel regarding the existence of the sexual relationship after a complaint was filed with the Wyoming State Bar.

Knudsen agreed to the disbarment, which was recommended to the Supreme Court by the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Wyoming State Bar. He was ordered to pay an administrative fee in the amount of $750 and costs of $50 to the Wyoming State Bar.

Treasure Coast Nursing Assistant Accused of Sexually Assaulting Elderly Woman

A 25-year-old certified nursing assistant was arrested Monday for reportedly sexually assaulting an elderly woman at a nursing home.

Christopher Alan Lacau, of Vero Beach, is facing three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on an elderly person, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

Lacau forced the woman to perform oral sex three times between Dec. 16 and Dec. 20, 2019, according to the sheriff's office. The woman is wheelchair-bound and fully paralyzed from the waist down due to being a victim of attempted murder. She was also diagnosed with PTSD because of the incident.

The woman told deputies she didn't report it right away because of Lacau's physical size and her past experiences with domestic violence.

The Department of Children and Families was later contacted and Lacau was suspended, per policy procedure, the sheriff's office said. He had been working at the facility since February 2019 and had no previous complaints against him.

When detectives interviewed Lacau, he became emotional and told them it was all consensual, according to the sheriff's office. However, the woman said everything was forced.

Police: Convicted rapist sexually assaulted disabled woman at Dallas nursing home

DALLAS - Police say a disabled woman was sexually assaulted by a convicted rapist at a nursing home in Pleasant Grove.

An arrest warrant alleges Olander Grant, 59, forced a fellow resident at Brentwood Place Nursing Home into his room early Sunday morning.


The victim told police Grant sexually assaulted her multiple times before she escaped.

Court records show Grant was convicted of rape in 1982 and served 25 years in prison. He remains in the Dallas County jail on an aggravated sexual assault charge.

88-Year-Old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Hillcrest Nursing Home

San Diego Police announced Tuesday the arrest of a man suspected of sexually assaulting an elderly woman in a nursing home in Hillcrest.

Detectives took Lusean Arline, 48, into custody Monday for the crime which occurred Oct. 27. Police did not release the name of the nursing home, but administrators with Balboa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center confirmed with 10 News the attack happened in their facility.

Police said the 88-year-old victim was inside the nursing home when Arline illegally entered the facility. He sexually assaulted the woman, who was in her bed, officers said.

The victim and other patients in the room began screaming.

“When staff members responded, Arline ran away,” police wrote in a news release.

San Diego Police Sex Crimes Unit investigators collected evidence at the scene, including male DNA which was processed by the Crime Lab and loaded into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).

Investigators identified Arline as the suspect and, with the help of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Arline was arrested.

Arline is currently being held on a parole violation. He will face multiple felony counts that include burglary, felony sexual assault, and elder abuse charges, according to police.

Man accused of sexually assaulting nursing home patient faces judge

MILFORD, N.H. — The man accused of sexually assaulting a nursing home patient briefly faced a judge Wednesday.

The victim's daughter said seeing the man accused of sexually assaulting her mother in court was a big step in helping her to heal.

Robert Champigny is charged with two misdemeanor sexual assault charges upon a woman at the Crestwood nursing home in Milford, where they both were living.

During the hearing, Champigny started to comment on the charges, saying, “I have no memory of,” before being stopped by the judge.

“I don't buy that at all. I would hear him talk at the nursing home. I would hear him talk about conversations when he was in the Army and all this stuff. I'm not buying that at all,” Deborah Modugno, the victim’s daughter, said.

The alleged assaults happened in June, and Modugno said her mother, who was totally incapacitated by a stroke, had trouble dealing with the situation, and it's been tough restoring her trust.

“It took a couple of weeks to get her around again where she felt safe even with her own family,” Modugno said.

Champigny has been ordered not to have any contact with the victim and is no longer living at the nursing home. He remains free on personal recognizance bail.

Champigny spoke briefly to WMUR outside court, saying, “I have nothing to say.” When asked if he had anything to say to the alleged victim or her family, Champigny said, “Nothing to say.”

The arraignment was continued until Sept. 3.

While this case still has a long way to go, the victim's daughter said she remains adamantly opposed to any sort of plea bargain.
