Save Marcelle

This video was shot over a few days in 2008,when Marcelle had began to sleep by day. To force her to stay awake, accountant Richard Kaufman ordered that she be denied the recliner she had used all day for years, and that she be kept at the dining table, in a chair she finds quite uncomfortable.

When Mr. Kaufman bought some squeaky birds and a stuffed dog, the aides were supposed to make Marcelle love her new toys. The aides were told that the doctor wanted them to keep Marcelle awake with the squeaky birds. The aides obeyed. Please remember, when you watch the video, that the nurse aides who appear to mistreat Marcelle are not aware they are doing anything awful or cruel. They were told that these were doctor’s orders, and that they had to bother Marcelle a little, in order to help her. They did not know that these were not doctor’s orders, but accountant’s orders.

This is so painful to watch, and a prime example of why NASGA will NOT stop advocating for those no longer able, and for the people who suffer as result of trying to do tight by the one's they care about. No one ever deserves this kind of treatment-ever!

The accountant paid himself $20,000.00 a month! This is so sad, Marcelle is just a $. I feel sorry for the caregivers who appear to be gentle even though they are tormenting Marcelle who would rather be left alone. When will this stop?

this video could be our family member or wake up it could be one of us down the road if we don't stop the government from taking over our lives i would rather be in a better place above than be in a position to be treated in a strange way this is strange unusual punishment period where is the accountant and all that fed off this lady's assets where is the accountant that paid himself with her funds?

I'm so sorry - it was very hard to watch, indeed.

You'd think the aides would have known better. It just broke my heart to watch Marcelle.

It makes me also think of the many people who are tormented and noone is there to record it.

I am sorry for this family and for what Marcelle went through.

Well, friends, thanks for your sympathy. I am the son--or step son, really. Yet, she loved me as a mother would, and acted towards me like a natural mother would, for 49 years.

She suffered needlessly, especially after this video was made, when they dosed her with unappoved drugs, experimenting on her with very expensive Alzheimer Disease drugs. She did not have Alzheimer, and the drugs had only awful effects on her; yet they continued dosing her until her death. I sent a psychiatrist to see her, a university professor, to see about dropping those dangerous medications that drove crazy. They denied entry to the psychiatrist.

You are right, the aides who tormented her were not to blame; they were not so smart, and obeyed the Accountant's orders to the letter.

This case is a bit different from most such cases, in that I had a few hundreds of thousands to blow on lawyers. Still I lost, because the Accountant had the millions of my family's money to spread around.

You should look at the video at www.savemarcelle.com, there the video frame is not cut, and you can read what people are saying.

SORRY, SPELLING ERRORS CORRECTION

Well, friends, thanks for your sympathy. I am the son--or step son, really. Yet, she loved me as a mother would, and acted towards me like a natural mother would, for 49 years.

She suffered needlessly, especially after this video was made, when they dosed her with Alzheimer drugs not approved by the FDA for her condition. She did not have Alzheimer, and the drugs had only awful effects on her; different doctors advised against it; I sent a psychiatrist to see her, a university professor, to see about dropping those awful drugs that were making her so unhappy. Marcelle's keepers denied entry to the psychiatrist, and continued dosing her until death.

So you are right, the aides who tormented her should not be blamed; they thought they were obeying doctor's orders.

This case is a bit different from most similar situations, in that I had a few hundreds of thousands to blow on lawyers. Still I lost, because they had the millions of my family's money to spread around.
