Gary E. Harvey, Veteran in Peril

HE PROTECTED US; SHOULDN'T WE DO THE SAME FOR HIM?

Gary E. Harvey served in the Army as a Special Force Ranger during the Vietnam War. He was honored with a National Service Defense Medal and as an expert M16 rifleman. He was honorably discharged in 1971. After suffering a serious accident, Gary became a ward of the state.

He is now confined in a hospital and denied the comfort of his home and life with his wife.

His wife, Sara, is only permitted to visit Gary on a pre-determined schedule and "under guard." All medical decisions, including those of life and death, are made by strangers.

Please pray for him.

They only thing I've ever heard of this inhuman is "guardianship". I know thru first hand experience that the guardianship system in our country is severally corrupt! Elderly and vulnerable people are being stolen from their families, just for money with NO protection from our government today. You may think Adult Protection helps but they don't and this could happen to you.

Sure, the government should be protecting him; not using him as a means of making money, because it's not just the lawyers making money; it's the hospitals and nursing homes, too.

How much do they contribute?

Your right Thelma and the one who truely cares about Gary is the one that is paying the price in more ways than one.

heartbreaking i look at this and i see a loved one held captive by the guardianship terrorists which in my opinion who is a bigger threat to society the guardianship racket or bin laden?

This is the same story that many hundreds, if not thousands, of us have experienced. First they steal our loved one away. Then they try to get rid of us by limited visitation. This is exactly what I am suffering through also.

Gary E. Harvey is a Veteran. Where is the American Legion? The Veterans of Foreign Wars (FVW).

Do they stand up for their fellow Veteran's rights?

This treatment of a Veteran makes the situation especially disturbing and particularly wrong.

I consider this a slap in the face to a Veteran who gave and sacrificed his time for our freedom.

Is the way to say "thank you" for your service to our country?

Well said. Gary Harvey needs protection now from the strangers controlling his life instead of his wife.
