That's just plain crazy. I hope the family of the ward sent in a complaint to the judiciary on Judge Kowamoto.

Business as usual in Crook County folks

Sounds to me like the judge should be guardianized!

If a movie were made about this one case, no one would believe it as they say truth is stranger than fiction ~~~ Welcome to Cook County Illinois!

Has this world gone nuts? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how wrong this is. And I bet it's against the law too.

Against the law? You are joking, yes? Does following common sense and laws really matter in a court of law? Maybe in some jurisdictions this would never be but oh how creative we are in the jurisdiction of Cook County Illinois.

This may not be a travesty. Many mentally ill people can control their illness with medication and be perfectly normal. If this person is a family member, and is also mentally ill, it could be that still this person is the best choice, especially if the ward picked him out.

Was the judge told of the mentally disabled person's history before appointing the person as guardian?

What else can I say?
