Mother Faces Set Back in Bid to Get Daughter

Renate Arnold has sued in federal court in an attempt to overturn a 2011 ruling by Davidson Probate Judge David Randy Kennedy that placed her daughter Lisa Arnold, who was born with Down syndrome, in a conservatorship.

Renate Arnold and Lisa, now 21, drew widespread attention as the two worked the streets selling The Contributor , the newspaper of the area’s homeless community.

Renate Arnold was accused of exploiting and abusing her daughter. Advocates came to her defense, stating that she was being unfairly targeted.

We probably won't know the true story, but you can bet if Judge Randy Kennedy was involved in this case, it has portions that really stink.

What about the daughter in this case. Who is looking out for her. Who is working toward getting her home with her mother.

Mother was criticized for having daughter with her outside. Well, what was she supposed to do, leave her home alone?

Are these records sealed? Sad, lives forever changed and it's a life sentence.

Kennedy is acting contrary to law.
The law requires a motion by a party for sealing. Where's the motion? Where's the sealing decision? Who made a motion? Mother? Daughter?
