Did a Westchester mother go too far when she kicked her kids to the curb and drove away?
Madlyn Primoff is accused of kicking her fighting daughters out of her car and driving off.
She allegedly circled the block a few times, lost sight of the 10- and 12-year-olds, but then drove to her multi-million dollar home in Scarsdale.
According to the police report, the 10-year-old was emotional as she described her mom demanding both youths exit the vehicle when they wouldn't stop fighting. The 12-year-old was found walking home. A good Samaritan took the distraught 10-year-old to an ice cream store and called police.
Primoff spent Sunday night in the White Plains lock-up, then made bail on Monday, right after a judge hit her with a restraining order restricting her contact with her own children.
Police said the mother exhibited "inadequate guardianship" as her 10-year old wandered White Plains alone for 40 minutes.

The family needs support counseling; not guardianship.
Guardianship? Oh, sure therein lies the solution if you believe in Tinker Bell and the Easter Bunny.
I have mixed feelings about what this mother Madlyn Primoff did. Mom may have been at the end of her rope, maybe even having a close call while driving, narrowly avoiding an accident.
Better to have an auto accident because of screaming females, ongoing chaos in the vehicle?
Maybe these kids needed a strong message, some tough love to get their attention.
Conclusion: My sympathies go to the mother.
When I was a kid, I was fighting with my brother in the back seat on the way to visit someone we were all excited to see. Dad pulled over and said, "get out -- I'll pick you two up on the way home."
It was a strong lesson.
But, times have changed. Nowdays a parent can't let a child out of his/her sight or a predator will close in.
I feel for the Mother too. Society has gone too extreme -- looking at almost any type of discipline as child abuse. The problem is the kids society is turning out are selfish and have no empathy. It's because they've had their way all their lives.
The judge over-reacted -- parents aren't perfect. He should have instructed her and perhaps even remanded her, and let it go.
Of course the kids were upset about being kicked out of the car, they likely haven't had much of anyone following through on punishment.
